I won a DVD of this at Doncaster last year - haven't got around to watching it yet, though.

I remember watching that show years ago but only a few episodes. Was pretty good from what I remember.
Yes! I have the series on DVD & its quite good. No CGI all proper Spits etc.
Tom Burlinson who played "the Man from Snowy River" in that same named Aussie Movie plays a main role as a pilot nicknamed "Fanny" Barton.

Saw this in the '80s when it came out on TV in the US, then found and read the novel. I really enjoyed the dramatization of the campaign, so I bought it on VHS when it was available. Guess I will have to look for it on DVD and relive the experience
