Had a moment at the Hobby Lobby store today. I had stopped by to check out a few things off my list from the past . . . saw this cool bag, had to have it since it was half price . . .
Peaking out of the bag is what I had gone shopping for, some plastic foliage for my revised WoodStaaken project . . .
Then I had a "light bulb" moment . . . bought all this:
The glue: Beacon 3-in-1, a clear fast dry all surfaces clear glue, looked interesting and it is! Of course you will need somethings to glue together . . .
Two bags of turned wooden eggs, 1 3/4" x 2 1/2" and a bag of wooden heart shapes 1 1/2" x 1/8" . . .
Once home the heart is traced onto an index card . . .
Half of the heart cut out of card stock. . .
A slight arc cut from the center edge of the card heart . . .
Card is test fitted to the end of one of the wooden eggs . . . now you can see where this going . . .
Arc is traced onto the wooden heart, scored and cut to fit the egg . . .
Repeated two more times, the new glue is used to attach the three rudders to the egg . . .
My eggs had a flattened nose, so a bit of balsa was cut and attached to the end . .
Carved and sanded to shape . . .
Then a drilled hole for the rod, a plastic disk base, and there we are . . .
A quick convincing barrage balloon on a budget! Repeat and paint and play . . . !
Way better than a potato on a wire . . . now where did the Woodstocks go?
