Well that was a hairy one!

Not so much because of the action, but because I thought I had lost all my pics when over half way done.
As I posted in the Officers Mess, I did manage to salvage them using some software I found online.

I was disappointed in the final result.
Having downed all the Bulldogs I thought I had surely pulled out a victory!

That slide was short-lived when I found the actual Victory Conditions in Carl's most excellent mission briefing ...

Because MvR survived I thought I had it down, but then when I was adding the points I saw that it didn't matter - he was downed and that's what counted.
I threw in a little aftermath slide for the "what if" part. Maybe he would have taken Goering's spot and led the Luftwaffe 20+ years on ...

One a positive note, Wolfram is one away from becoming the Eagles' next ace. (Hope I haven;t jinxed him with that statement)
Going to have to dig out more Camels since Rimmer and Lister won't make the party next month, and I don't want anyone else flying the 'red heart' and 'blue ring'.
Dave has given me newbies to take their place.
Thanks again to Carl for a most entertaining scenario.

P.S. Many thanks to Onkel for pointing out my cockups and giving me a chance to fix my results.

Gott im Himmel Pete, that one had me on the edge of my seat wondering who was going down next!

I like the 'alternate facts' section () where von Richthofen is grounded - I definitely concur with your assessment in that regard.

Great job, REP has been awarded, I just wish I could give you more.

Excellent format and AAR. Close run thing.

    Thumbs up

    Loved it! Just Loved it!
Top AAR Pete & all the more deserving of Rep for what you went through to retrieve your photos.
Really liked you using May, Brown & MvR in your story telling. Great Stuff mate.

Nicely done. Was wondering how soon the secondary fight was going to happen and the result.
Thanks for an entertaining AAR and an alternate ending.

Superb Pete, trashing kites all over the gaff !

    Onkel says:

A dark day for us, our talisman the Baron himself is downed behind enemy lines, we can only hope he is unharmed.... but we should be proud of our achievements and the damage done to our foe, particularly Wolfram's efforts

    Meanwhile...
Poking about the wreckage of the flaming Camel the Aussie infantry looking for souvenirs were surprised to hear the sound of cursing emanating from under the port wing - as they lifted it away they found a rather miffed 2Lt Merrill covered from head to toe in horse sh*t and having great difficulty in extracting himself from same.
"Strewth mate, we thought you were a gonner" said one of the privates
"Rumours of my demise have been much exaggerated" retorted Merrill with as much dignity as he could muster "Now lend a hand and get me out of here !"
FLM & COL are not cumulative - I have now clarified that in the rules.
    2Lt Sam Merrill survives with 4 - Injured - Skip 1D6 Scenarios. Rolled 3 = Skip 3

Ltn Friedrich Schmidt shouldn't have been downed by the ' 2nd ' wound - with the exception of the boom card special damage is not counted in collisions. Not sure how to deal with this one just yet, thinking either he pulls out and flies home or he force lands as a precaution, gets down OK; take E&E as 7 -1 WIA -1BEL = 5 In hiding! - Skip 1D2 Scenarios ?
Will make a small change to VP too.

Of course it would help if the Bally Tally wasn't on f'n slides !

Well that's some good news, Onkel

I don't like seeing anyone die a fiery death.
I thought the collision and flames would be cumulative, especially seeing he had only drawn one fire damage card when the 'mishap' occurred.

For Schmidt I thought the 6 put him over the damage limit and the wound would count for the E&E.
Seems logical to me that any special damage should count in a collision, but, if the rules say otherwise I will take it.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just had another look and I see I was counting the second wound as the reason for his going down, as he was only at 10.
I would like a dazed RTB if you are okay with that.
That way he's available for the D.VII mission.
I will fix the AAR tonight or tomorrow.

Sounds good to me Pete. We'll get him next time !! Special damage in the C deck applies only in AA hits btw.

Okay I have reloaded, but have redundant pictures at the end that I can't for the life of me figure out how to remove using the Manage Attachments in Advanced.
I identified which numbers they are but do not see a Delete or Remove option.
I know I have done it before ....

    Alles Klar !
When you want to delete and you have the pic number it's fairly straight forward - get into the manager, hover over the image and a check box appears in the top right corner - Delete? puw - check the box then a puw asks OK or cancel. select - click on Done at bottom right of screen & pics are removed.
When you don't have the numbers you have to rely on mk1 eyeball - when you hover over the image you get a zoom in look-see at it.

Question - Did you roll for Schmidt's wound - he will be RTB / WIA / 1 kill (I'm counting collision!)

Schmidt's result was redone and he's all well. It seems I may have messed up the reload.
    Will check it again shortly.

    Final Final results are up.
    Thanks, Onkel

    1 kill (I'm counting collision!)
P.S. I wondered about the collision kill - now that only Merril went down I guess I will take it. Seems 'dodgy', but ...

This one was a pleasure to post - even though I messed up the Butcher's and had Dave banging his head against a wall.

Wolfram had a great day and hopefully will soon be a Kannon with the Eagles. Sadly, today we have lost a legend and the Baron is no more. His loss will overshadow Wolfram's success.
