Lots of opportunities for interpretation.
I'm not sure that it tells the full story.
German orthochromatic film from WW1 shows yellow as BLACK - hence all the confusion over Hans Klein's fuselage stripe (yellow or black?).
Jasta 10 noses certainly appear "black", but this chart shows the two yellows as very bright.
The question of the cowling of Voss's triplane is also muddled by the similar appearance of yellow and dark green on orthochromatic film, yet this chart differentiates between them quite clearly.
Marine Seefrosta units also appear to have black tails in WW1 photographs, yet we know the tails were painted yellow.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!
