    I cannot see your image either, Steve.
    Looking at it again and using the plan views, if you draw a line between the trailing edges of the top planes it passes over the seat back of the D.III but pretty much through the middle of the seat of the D.II. Do the same with the photo and the line passes over the pilots lap which would suggest it is a D.II.
