Default A newly unearthed picture of Josef Frantisek

There aren't many pictures of Josef Frantisek. Here is a newly discovered one - he crash landed at Brighton area, went to a pub, something provoked him to a fight against all the people there, which made the local policemen arrest him.
The picture is from next morning. He looks a bit guilty actually

It comes from the personal collection of one of the policemen.

Nice one Jan. Would the "Bobbies" of today have those grins on their faces in this situation I wonder? Great photo - great find. Thanks for sharing!

Poor bloke, probably only had a couple of weeks to live when that photo was taken.

Here is the pub if you happen to be from around Brighton area. He crash landed nearby. He took down two Jerry airplanes that day. His nerves still running, his English being crap, he probably misunderstood something in the bar and decided that beating everybody up on one big pile would be a good idea.
That's why the guilty look later on.

Nice find Jan. It's nice to see old pics of the guys who protected the World at that point in time, even if it looks more like a mug shot.

The Downs Hotel is in Woodingdean a village on the outskirts of Brighton near where he landed. Here's a couple of links with the story:
