There is a nasty rumour going round that someone who has never been shot down at a show has finally succumbed, to a novice too! Please say this rumour is unfounded and the spreading of such should desist forthwith, with all haste I might add, before the reputation of this person is irredeamably lost.

I could not possibly comment, other than to say that the ensuing atmospheric disturbance and Hurricane sank five ships on the Sails table, and I'm not talking about aircraft here either.

Yes, I succumbed to the guns of a young chap in his first game, but this was hardly the first such occasion!
I have been shot down at a (admittedly small) number of shows, most famously by Prodromoi's girlfriend, who exchanged the first two damage cards of the game with me; on drawing the cards, I deferred to the time-honoured Gentleman's tradition of "Ladies First", and she duly drew a '0' - I drew second, and acquired a "BOOM"!
This time, having shot down two Entente planes, and having acquired an impressive collection of damage cards, my Albatros D.III was set on fire by the aforementioned Newbie, who then proceeded to finish me off with a brace of high-scoring cards.
This entirely undeserved Reputation is, indeed, a rumour/myth.
Neil, I hope this mis-placed rumour has, at last, been laid to rest.

"Teflon Tim" has never existed - well perhaps he did, in one amazingly lucky exchange of fire (photo to follow!).
But such amazing luck was only transitory.
