Lange , the ribbons flying from his wing spars, took his well seasoned flight up to 12000mts in the hope of spotting the 2 seater. Time to cover those PBI down on the ground, slugging it out against the advancing Tommies and their creeping Archie.
After several minutes he saw the spotter plane and its escorts,
but over to the left a single scout was coming in fast and diving low
The first salvo of shells screamed in the first few hitting a pill box." Damn" thought Lange "that spotter is doing a good job" Lange signaled Hartmann to hunt the low level Camel, He and Smitt would deal with the spotter.
Keeble released the safety on his 35lb bomb and turned into the AAMG nest, avoiding the incoming bullets. (0)
Hartmann was above him but with no clear shot.
Keeble could see the cloud of flame and dust as his bomb hit the gun (direct hit)
Smitt found himself behind Millers Camel.
He fired a short burst (1)
Hartmann was flying just above Keeble ,waiting for an oportunity to take a shot, but Keeble swung hard right and the Albatros overshot
The AA fire struck the Camels oil sump, the resulting smoke temporarily blinding Keeble from his target but he pressed on
Lamson felt the shock wave rock the Breg as a shell exploded behind him shrapnel cutting through the wing (3)
Smitt and Jackson found themselves head to head Smitt saw the first small flicker of flame from beneath his engine cowling. (2+GJ, 2+fire)he waited and then fired a long burst at the Camels cockpit. Jackson s body jerked as the bullets first struck him and then his control column. the plane pitched violently to the right and began to spiral towards the ground, Jackson unable to control it (5+pilot,XP)
Hartmann now had Keeble in his sights ripping into the Camels wings (4)
Keeble released his bomb which fell short of the target just as another flurry of rounds hit his plane (5,0)
Lamson turned the Breguet around Lange closing in on him.Miller pointed his nose towards the flight leader catching him unawares (1)
His next attack is not so profitable (0)
Lamson saw the Stucker ahead of him ad closing fast. Cocking his single Lewis he took aim and fired the plane swerved violently, Lange tumbling from his cockpit as his plane fell from the sky (0, XP) Lange frantically pulled at his parachute ripcord. (Need a dice for this one )
Smitt turned his plane towards the Breg ignoring Keeble below him. Hartmann chose to target Miller but the Breguet was a more tempting target. its rudder shredded by the Albs rounds (2+rrd,1+RRD)
Keeble missed with his final bomb and started to climb away his job done for the day
With the German scouts well behind him Lansom swung the breg homeward., the 2 camels following close behind.

+*This score may be increased to 5 points if the ground target is finished off by mg fire – needs another 3 points damage minimum.
Any ground target destroyed by artillery, as directed by two seater - 1 point
After calculating the scores, if your side has 20 + points more than the enemy – you win; 15 to 19 points more, it is a draw; less than 15 points more, you lose!]
A very nice playable game with a couple of turns of frenzied combat. An RFC victory and the potential loss of my Eagles Squadron leader (down to you Dave) means they will have to try harder next mission attacking those shops.
