Thread: Brandy Head

    Default Brandy Head

Looking at the rain outside, today, its difficult to believe that the weather was so beautiful yesterday. We went for a walk along the south coast, not far east from where we live in Devon, SW England.

Starting at a small seaside town called Budleigh Salterton, we made our way NE in the direction of Sidmouth, and about half way to our watering hole destination, Ladram Bay (see above), we came across a small, rather ugly building which I hope you might find interesting. Its location has been named "Brandy Head": Hopefully, the pics speak for themselves.

These days, thankfully, the area has a rather more peaceful and lazy purpose

Lovely day for it Mike & a bit of fascinating history to boot.
Last time I was in Sidmouth I was on the seafront marshalling the Tour of Britain cycle race, few years ago now.

You're right Baz - it is great and we feel very lucky to live here There are places like Brandy Head dotted here and there all around the coast. But not many I have seen that are related to aircraft. Cheers Mike

I saw "Brandy", my usual tipple, and thought

Alas, it was not to be..................

Thanks for the photos, though, Mike - interesting stuff!

Looks like a lively peaceful place to be. Again you never know what you will find when off the beaten track. Great photo.
