    Good quality photo - he looks pleased and so he should, you wouldn't bet against the Camel in this match up. Must have pulled a boom card.

    This is most probably one of the many WW1 pics that are now being colourised by a couple of Websites.
    They do really great stuff.
    They have Facebook pages.

    I think that you are correct about the photograph having been coloured in. Here is another photograph from the same scene. The Camel pilot was a Canadian, Lieutenant E.B. Lee, and I suspect that the other pilot shown was Abb. da Vfw Edgar Sholtz of Jasta 11, who shot him down.
