Thread: Out of the Bar

  1. #1

    Default Out of the Bar

As the bar is my unofficial office, so the WingCo keeps telling me, I have payed me mess bill and sorted out some odds and end. Young Tim has kindly offered to look after the aspidistra, remember to water her once a day, talk to her now and then and give her the occasional hug.

I'll see you on my return, don't know when, don't know where, but I know it'll be a sunny day. (I bet someone uses that line in a song sometime!).

So Bon Voyage, arriverderci and all the hoitpoiloi. Bags packed and I'm away. (hope the quack knows his job)

    Neil

PS: I've put a barrel on for you lot in the mess tonight, don't let gunners drink it all.
See you on the Dark Side......

Neil, glad to see you are doing so well that they are letting you out; or is it just that they have got fed up with your moaning?
By the way I still don't know if it was Knee or Hip you finally had done. Whichever one it was here's wishing you the best of everything.

Cheers lads. Got no appetite at present but have drunk a lake of water and sweated it back out again. Pain is bearable just stuck lying on me back. Best thing though pain in knee has gone! Hopefully both knees will be sorted when second OP I'd done. Routine is numbingly boring. Get up, take tablets, have breakfast, go for walk, sleep...repeat another twice then go to bed.

So there is a light at the end of the tunnel, Neil. Good. And some nice daily routine you enjoy there. If there is no sickness involved, who could ask for more?

I told him me Nan always swore on paraffin oil and best brown paper, nowt better. I'll sign off now chaps as it's nearly rounds and matron is a stickler!

Ok Chaps, looks like I'm being called under the knife sooner than expected (Was going to be 21st November), now it's 11th July. Again I ask Young Tim to look after the aspidistra, remember to water her once a day, talk to her now and then and give her the occasional hug.

UNtil then lets have lots of parties in the mess and most of the drinks will be on me, sod the mess bill.

So to the bar chaps I need lots of anaesthetic.........

Sooner rather than later Neil, then you can concentrate on getting fit again while the weather's still half decent.
