Sweet! I wish somebody had done that for me - it took another dozen years...

Good one Pete, in a couple of years he will be a great little opponent. I have a photo somewhere taken in 1968 when I turned one year old. My Dad for my birthday built me a number of 1/72 scale aircraft - Fokker D.VII, Albatros D.Va, Messerschmitt 109E, Mitsubishi Zero, Hawker Sea Fury, Grumman Wildcat, Sopwith Camel. They were look but don't touch back then, but I had no chance!

Good lad - he definitely favours the Red Baron.
Had a great afternoon chasing them around the living room.

    Thumbs up

Nothing like starting them when they are young & impressionable.

Has he made dakka dakka dakka noise yet, or maybe "eat hot flaming death, you fiendish Hun"?
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!

    Well done Pete!

He'll be blasting you out of the sky in no time at all......................

Children are too good at this game.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

I had all five of my sons playing wargames by age 5 and with my adult group y age 8. In spite of all the electronics games around they still as adults like gathering around the table and playing games.

How long before your grandson earns the nickname "Snoopy"?

    Curse you, Red Baron!

    This is great, Pete!

My two sons have been surrounded by airplanes since they were young, and we get in games of Wings of Glory many weeknights and on the weekends, too. They've asked for their own Shapeways planes to paint up and use in our ongoing campaign, and sometimes play in the gunner seat when I fly Rise of Flight (the WWI air combat sim). I love spending time with them on these on other interests and feel so lucky to get to share my own passion for aviation with them. It's definitely addictive!

Actually he had a preference for The Red Baron Dr.1

We watched my Vintage Aviation DVD for about 15 or 20 minutes so he got to see and hear the 'real' ones.

It may be that he prefers the Fokker Triplane because it is coloured bright red.
