Last night we played our first BoB game using Models etc from the New Starter Set.
The Mission required 2 Stuka's to try to bomb 4 Radar/ Tracking Stations inland from the English Coast.
There were 2 Me 109-e's as Escort & we used the 2 Spitfires from the Starter pack plus 2 Hurricanes from my collection. 1 was from 303 Polish Squadron & the other modelled on Robert Sandford Tuck's Hurry.
First a pic of the players.
L to R: Koby (having his first WW2 game), Chris H (Halvo), Glenn F, Glenn D, yours truly & Andrew (the Ambo).
THE SET UP
The German Forces
The British Forces
Chris was flying the 2 Stukas, Glenn D the BoB set ME 109, while Andrew had the yellow nosed Me 109 from Chris' original De Luxe Set
I flew both Hurricanes & Glenn F & Koby had the new Spitfire models.
The opposing forces closed to start the fight!
The sky was soon filled with twisting & turning aircraft as the Me 109's tried to stop the defenders from attacking the Dive Bombers.
Manoeuvring for advantage shots were exchanged between most of the combatants.
The opposing forces separated to regroup!
Bob Sanford Tuck scores the first kill--a Me-109 goes down!
Glen D now takes control of one of the Stukas.
The Germans strike back & take down the 303 Sqd Hurricane.
Retribution is quick as Glenn's Spitfire accounts for one of the Stukas but in return he is set on Fire!
The brave German Pilot crashes his doomed aircraft into one of the Radar Stations
Andrew's Yellow Nosed 109 tries to finish off Glenn's Spit but Glenn is still fighting.
Koby gets his first Kill as he takes out the Yellow nosed Me 109 with the Explosion Card.
In the meantime Glenn F's Spitfire succumbs to a combination of Battle & Fire Damage.
Glenn D heroically attempts another pass at a Radar Station all of which so far have escaped damage except for the one that the Stuka crashed into! Taking more damage from the remaining British aircraft he decides survival is the better part of valour but the superior speed of Sandford Tuck's Hurricane chases him down & delivers the final blow to send the Stuka crashing into the English Channel leaving the 2 remaining British aircraft in control of the Skies.
Well that was great fun & everyone enjoyed the game & the historical background to the scenario.
