Book Title: Britain's Forgotten Fighters of the First World War
Author: Paul R. Hare
ISBN: 978-1-78155-197-4
Category: History
Format: Hardback
Summary: This book is a historical account of the less well known fighter aircraft produced by Great Britain in WW1. It comences with the Royal Aircraft Factory S.E.2 and concludes with the Martinsyde F4 Buzzard, which could have been a superb aircraft had the war not ended before it could get into service.
The book is very readable and contains many black and white photographs of the aircraft. It considers technical innovations and why some aircraft were less successful. The full technical specifications for each aeroplane are not given. Reference works will need to be consulted for those but that was not the intention of the book.
In my opinion it is certainly worth reading.
