Hey Gang,
I'm excited to be here. I bought a copy of the Wings of War card game several years ago (before it became WoG) and it sat in my collection of games for a long while.
Then, I got into Star Trek: Attack Wing and heard that WoW was similar in play. So, I pulled out my WoW game and opened it up like a kid on Christmas morning. IT WAS AWESOME!!!
That week, I went out and bought the last 2 biplanes that my local game store had on clearance because the game just wasn't moving in his store... nobody was playing it around here, either. I brought them home and played a few rounds with a friend. I must say that it took a bit longer to kill him in WoW than Star Trek because we really just kept flying around in circles around each other, but it was still cool.
I was contemplating getting into the Axis and Allies miniatures aerial combat game, but, now I am about to buy my first WW2 set, Battle for Britain, as soon as it comes out (the starter set has been sold out for quite some time on Miniatures Market and CoolStuff.com). WoG seems to be so much more fast paced and exciting and I'm sick of rolling friggin dice all the friggin time!
Also, I'm a member of a local gym that caters to veterans and I've been chatting with the owner about starting a game night there. He loves the idea of having this and other war games for the guys to get into.
Anyway, I hope to maybe meet a few local gamers and and I look forward to "buzzing the tower" with my new game!
OH... BY THE WAY, i'M IN THE BROWNSTOWN/WOODHAVEN AREA, IN CASE THERE ARE ANY OTHER PILOTS NEARBY.
