Thread: So what did Santa bring you??

Default So what did Santa bring you??

Just wondered what goodies people found under their trees this year (gaming related rather than socks and aftershave of course..)

I seemed to have had a beer and boardgames related crop of presents which was very nice (oh and an awesome watch from my lovely wife)
    so...

Sails of Glory Mat (much needed)
    Exploding Kittens Game
    Imploding Kittens Game
Guillotine Game (try it, its brilliant)
75th Anniversary Edition of 'Escape from Colditz' boardgame
    Cthulhu Pandemic boardgame
    Eldritch Horror boardgame
Latest expansion for Carcassonne (Princess & the Dragon)

I need a month off just to get everything played...

All I got game related was another Strutter - played Exploding Kittens though, very good game, also played 3 different Fluxx games and Infiltration -
Everything else received was either usable, readable or wearable.

My lovely wife bought me a 1:200th Bristol Beaufort (last one at HBM) which Dave at AIM is using as a master to produce 5 more. Together with 4 AIM Lancasters and 4 ME262's. I won't actually see them though until the end of January due to (health) problems at AIM.
Still, it's the thought that counts!
I suppose I will have to offer to pay any duty levied though. All in the spirit of Christmas you understand.
Otherwise it was Port and Biscuits and Gift Vouchers. No smellies this year thank God; still haven't started last years!!

    Thumbs up

Well no WoG gear this Christmas but daughter Virginia got me Osprey's Hurricane Aces 1941-45 which looks great as it covers all the various areas the Hurry fought in. Western Desert, Pacific, India, Borneo etc etc.

Eldest daughter got me Season 5 of Grimm & Grand daughter Louise got me 2 packs of one of my favourite Teas.
Friend Deeann gave me a new Rain Gauge, Calendar & a couple of Christmas hand towels.

Also got a couple of books coming from the Book Depository in the UK including a new Inspector Banks novel.

I didn't get anything for Christmas this year, as I took my gift budget and gave it to charity.

I did get some stuff that had been on order since July, though. My LFGS has had great difficulty in ordering from the Canadian Distributor, and finally received my order. Now, I have my No-man's Land playing mat, and a bunch of Duel Packs.

Two of the Duel Packs (WGF001A & WGF001B) arrived in Walkerton, Ontario on the 23rd of December, as I sent them to two friends in that town. One of the friends visited me this summer, and I introduced him to the game. It took this long to get the Duel Packs and mail them out, but he and his buddy (mine also) are looking at taking shots at each other very soon. So, not technically Christmas presents, but it worked out that way by timing.

No Games, planes or Figures but I did get a massive bag of Beef Jerky and M&M's so my gaming snacks are set! I also got the best tape measure I've ever owned. Stanley Chrome 12'. I already have one but an extra is always welcome. I mean THE BEST tape measure ever.

    David!

Please post a short After-the-First-Game review of the Chariot Race. I love racing games and this one has a PL version I can see. And above all Leacock's games are among my favourites.
