RIP John Glenn
John Herschel Glenn Jr. (July 18, 1921 – December 8, 2016)
Marine fighter pilot, decorated WW2 & Korea veteran, astronaut, politician - the first American to orbit the Earth in 1962 & also the oldest in 1998 aged 77. He certainly showed he had the right stuff.

One of my childhood hero's that I luckily got to meet when he ran for the U.S. Senate, truly a great man.

As I recalled it the memories of Alan Sheppard and John Glenn, made all my childhood Sci Fi comics become real in the space of about a year.
RIP to a very brave explorer of space.

I was listening to a show on the radio and it seems he was the most notable of all the astronauts. As said Godspeed.
May he rest in peace. He was an inspiration to a generation.
If ever a people had heroes, he certainly ranks among them.
