Thread: "Enemy coast ahead!"

    Default "Enemy coast ahead!"

Just finished all the ground work on my coastline. All that remains are the buildings to paint and add to the board.

    And in colour.

A closer look at the coastline terrain. I've now got 12 feet x 4 feet of terrain at my disposal. All I need now is a 1/1000 scale Chainhome radar tower set to sit up the back and wait for the Stukas to come and rain bombs upon it.

I do like the interlocking boards idea Trev.
Did you know that you can get models of Chain Home Radar stations?

More gorgeous terrain, Trevor - looks absolutely splendid! I look forward to seeing 'hundreds' of planes flying over it...

    All the best,

Hi Rob, I do know that Brigade Models have one at 1/1000 scale on Shapeways, but it is very expensive at about $100AUD plus postage. Do you know of another.

That is the one Trev. Sorry to have set you off. It was only Ł27 quid the set a couple of years ago.

At your scale they would be around 5.25" tall . . . about right if you have a 3D pen and some time . . . mine got crazy tall at 12"

In the last photograph, it looks like the lighthouse has a functioning light. Maybe I'm seeing things.
So how many books are in your personal library?

Just a trick with light reflecting off the top, no real lights I'm afraid!

Don't know if this is of help but Historical Board Gaming has pieces for Axis and Allies.

Thanks BobP, I'm looking for something a little bit bigger, as Clipper says, about 5" tall. I was looking at doing some conversions of other things like Metal Magic Eiffel Towers or things like that. By the time 8 towers are bought and made, you realise that it becomes a false economy in the end and you're going to be punching around the same price or more as that of the Brigade Games models anyway. I'll wait until after the dust settles after the BoB sets and place an order on Shapeways.
