Thread: Fairey Barracudas!!

  1. #1

    Default Fairey Barracudas!!

I had completely overlooked these guys and they are amazing!

Nice details, should come off very nice indeed!

I did not realize they came in pairs in the sets I ordered, but six is way better than three!

Does anyone have a color view of this thing painted all white? Have a friend who did one as a flying model . . . .

    If only we had stats...

PS: One of the better images of a Fairey Barracuda I came across in researching this plane:

[Edit: Removed. See new card below.]

Note: I made up the stats, so expect them to be wrong. Plane needs some shading, too.

Darn red dot got in the way of the open gunner's position I attempted to patch in. You can just see the barrels of the twin Vickers below the dot.

It would be cool to have a series of ATA pilot cards for some alternate scenarios . . . I can imagine a transport flight intercepted who just happened to have some ammo on board . . . could happen . . .

The Air Transport Auxiliary never flew with armed planes.

As for Barracuda Stats, I suggest that you use the I manoeuvre deck, Guns: Forward -/-. Rear A/A. Damage points: say 20 or 21, Ceiling: 6. Climb: 7. Use a single seater sized base with a rear gun arc. The Barracuda was a dive-bomber in addition to being a torpedo bomber.
