Thread: Where we all are . . .

Default Where we all are . . .

After enjoying Carl's airshow pics from Australia, I just had to look up our crew down under, found most everyone who is current on the site, way cool!

Now with the advent of a truly world wide squadron Lend Lease effort, the elves and I are endeavoring to secure a large world map with sufficient resolution to add all our members so I can get a feel for where they are. I know many have security issues so I am using the revealed locations on our member pages. Any one have a problem with this? I am finding my geography skills are a bit lacking, but it is a fun adventure and the elves are hoping to link up with their relations around the world. Now for some flag pins and a wall to use . . . maybe someone with Google Earth skills might make it a digital map . . . ? Any one want to play?

No worries this end, clipper. Downer is a suburb of Canberra, in the inner north.

No hassles from me David. Moruya is a South Coast Town in NSW just south of Batemans Bay & the main route up the Clyde Mountain to Canberra.

There was a map, or linked map, for Forum members. I can't find it, but I put my location on it years ago.

Can someone find it, and we can start using it again?

I added my name to the WoG barren middle CA coast and wonder if J Angelo is still around. The point in Alameda is red and the rest are blue. Did I add it wrong or is the difference in color show up to indicate a point I added?

Ok, added myself (once in The Hague, The Netherlands and again in Lünne, Lower Saxony, Germany).
Also took the liberty of adding Blackronin (Amsterdam, The Netherlands), PonchoLatour (Delft, The Netherlands), Cats Eyes (The Hague, Netherlands), Niek_vD (Malden, The Netherlands) and DGH (Rotterdam, The Netherlands)...
    Just hope they don't mind
    cheers,

    G'day Guus!
Any chance of adding me at Moruya NSW Australia.
I had tried but failed! I sent a request for a new password & entered the 6 didgit code they emailed me but it still refused access?

I would love to help you but when I did it I created a whole new layer so maybe I should keep my hands off the map...

You got it Baz. The map is interactive so you should be able to zoom right in to street level. I put you in the general area. With an address you can be pinpointed, but maybe we really don't want that accuracy in public.

Phillip, you'll have to open a Google account (if you don't have one) so you can edit the map. Stay on the same layer. Hit edit on the upper left, then you can add a location balloon then where on the map you want it. There is a white bar top left of center, hit the balloon, then hit the location where you want it on the map. You can edit some text, change color...

You may remember us talking about the bend in the road that you can't see around when we were at Doncaster.
