Well done, Bob.
A fine victory for our Adlers.
Interesting prologue and epilogue as well.
... and your group's packages were much more worthy than the ones my flight delivered.
Nicely done Bob - good job that Gotha was there - perhaps you should transfer their gunners over to the Eagles !
The Bulldogs certainly had some luck but that's how it goes sometimes.
Onkel says:
Nice tally Bob, you missed a WIA on Holmes' E&E tally but somehow miscounted and the result is correct !
I see in your game notes that you gave a +1 to damage from the Comic due to the Higher Guns rule. For this to be played the machine being shot at must be overlapping the comic's base in its fire arc. If it's one altitude above it counts as long range, if at the same altitude it counts as close range unless the firer has climb counters and the target does not.
You may be house ruling this & playing it slightly differently of course !
Hopkins and a replacement for McLeod have been added to your roster. Keep up the good work.

Smashing AAR Bob, well done. I love the 'Blue Max' schemes on the Pfalz and the Fokker
Danke, Onkel.
I figured out somewhere as I was compiling the AAR photos how the Higher Guns +1 bonus was meant to work, although as it turned out it did not change the result.
I did save an image of my butcher's bill spreadsheets "just in case" and as I go back and look at it, it was the result of my transcription, not my calculation.
I shall have to be more careful, and perhaps get a proofreader!
Dame Fortune has been a key component in all the missions so far, this time she swung heavily in favor of the Eagles, although, saucy as ever, she did it in a way that kept their pilots from claiming too much credit.
You may already have noted I had to draw up an extra pilot for the Bulldogs, young Stanley Hopkins, a recent transfer from 2-seaters duty and perhaps too keen to get into scouts to be as diligent in bomber chasing as his commander had intended. It started out as Weir, until I realized that he was still recuperating from injuries....(thank you "find and replace"!).
Here's to the next mission!
Postscript:
Yikes! I have to be developing a Mission Brief for February 1918. I had better get cracking!!!
A mighty game Bob and beautifully crafted and presented. The time you spent creating such a splendid AAr is worthy of lots of Rep.
Our boys are well pleased. I make it 16 MPs to add to our total so far Lets keep up the good work for the next mission.
I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
Bob that was a super piece of story telling. Beautifully written & presented.
Definitely Rep worthy.
Most enjoyable Bob. Presentation was fantastich, and I loved the interjections of extra information.
It must have taken you hours to prepare.
Well done old chap.
Rob.
"Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death."
Wonderful story telling and I really like the presentation style. Can't say I liked the result but well done the Eagles! Thanks for an excellent read. Mike
Fantastic tale Bob. Looks like Gunnar got quite the Christmas gift in spite of his bad luck.
