Thread: Phoenix D.I short dive card

Default Phoenix D.I short dive card

Phoenix D.I's short dive card: how does it works? Is it just like a normal dive (looses one altitude level and all altitude markers) but just shorter?

And this is how it was meant.

    Thanks for your answers.
What particular flying characteristic of the Phoenix does this maneuver aim to represent?

I used it for the first time at Doncaster this past weekend; my second overdive ever! Short dive, then straight (as overdive) - fired and BOOM! Target destroyed.

The non-steep stall was also VERY useful - the Phoenix has a most interesting deck!
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

Agreed. Quite useful when intercepting bombers. You can use it to get in a close tailing position and let them have close burst after close burst. Your not going to chase down many planes but if you get behind them look out.
