Thread: Best wishes to our South Australian Wingmen

Default Best wishes to our South Australian Wingmen

South Australia has been hit by the worst storm experienced there in 50 years. Due to lightning strikes on critical infrastructure the power supply to the entire State has been cut.

Stay safe down there lads and best not send any kites up until the filthy weather passes!!

Yes saw this on the News casts. Hope you chaps & your families are all AOK.
    Definitely NOT flying weather.
We should get a bit of it on the tail end of those Lows but nothing like you did.

Yep spent last night reading by candle light. We had power back on by 2100 but others still haven't got it back on.

Haven't lost power tonight but plenty of wind and rain. The coast is taking a real battering!

Hi Wayne, good to see you are back on the grid!

At least you don't need power to play Wings

Hah but you do need to be careful holding candles next to plastic - the 'fire' card could take on a whole new meaning

Thank you to all of you expressing concern for us here in South Australia. Personally, we suffered no damage and only had the power off for 31/2 hours, so we are very fortunate.
The problem for some people now is rising rivers and flooding.
As someone noted, WoG flying can be done when there are high winds and teeming rain, as long as you stay inside to do it!
