Thread: Tanks

    Default Tanks

I know not plane related but at the open house at the tank farm they had a WWI tank that they pulled out. When I say pulled out they drove it out for people to see.

I thought this would be something to see. I have seen a WWI tank before but never one that ran.

Tanks a Lot! Very awesome indeed! Wonderful that these are being restored by private groups since so many museums are selling off our history . . . thanks!

I have a PANHARD French AC in 1/72 by a company Skala. I think it is a Polish company and on the box the have models of a FT-17. They may have a 1/72 of this one. Don't remember where I bought this.

An internet search found these in 1:76 or 1:72 scale.

Darell not sure what 1/72 you are into but check out HOBBYLINC. I was just looking and they have so many military vehicles in this scale.

The Revell is a reprint of the old Matchbox models. My British unit was 3 ESCI (1/72) Shermans and 1 matchbox (1/76) Firefly X3 for a squadron.

    Nice little WW I tank.

Next year I'm going to Saumur/France for two weeks. They have a great tank museum and a lot of stuff that still can drive.

The show was great because of the number of vehicles there. To see some of them run was another treat. Here are a few more photos.

Marines assaulting a Japanese position. The LVT ran up to the position. There is a Sherman behind the LVT giving support fire.

Incredible story of this particular tank.

This is one of 120 tanks of that type used in Polish Army in twenties, particularly in Polish-Soviet War 1920.
It was found by Polish Army Continget in Afghanistan.
Historians state this vehicle was captured by the Soviets during the 1920 war and was presented in 1923 to Afghan Emir.
In 2013 thanks to Afghan President Kharzaj it was returned to Poland (above with our former President) and completely renovated.
Now it takes part in many official ceremonies and parades.

Hope you don't loose it again to the Russian, Andrzej.

What about a 120 mm Rheinmetall upgrade?

It was always so reassuring that the man beside you with the blanket was there to smother the flames in case you set yourself alight!!
