    Default New to the Aerodrome

    Hello all,

Just wanted to take a minute to introduce myself. I am new to WoG but have been a fan of the SoG line by Ares for quite a while. My father actually got me turned on to Wings as he is an avid WW1 history buff. I love games, and after he talked to me about this line, I just couldn't resist. My hope is that I can get him to play with me, but he is in Madison, WI and I am in Grand Rapids, MI. That and he is not really a gamer. But it would be fun to try to get him involved none-the-less.

Any who. I look forward to taking in all the knowledge and wisdom and ideas you fine people can impart on me to make me a better gamer and hobbyist.

    Good hunting all!

    Nick

    Hi Nick. Welcome from Poland.
We have something in common. My father is a WWII enthusiast and a chess player. He has never played any board (except Scrabble) or table top games until I introduced him to WoG. after our first play he said: "Well...this is the game I can play!"
Below you see him flying a P-51!

G'day Nick & welcome to the 'drome on behalf of the pilots who fly in NSW down in Australia.

I bet with your fathers interest in WW1 aero you will have no problems getting him to try a game.
You just need to arrange a visit!

Welcome also from the southwestern edge of Ohio...not too far from the birthplace of flight...speaking of...

In the event you are free and feeling in need of road trip the 2016 DAWN PATROL RENDEZVOUS is slated for Sat &Sun, Oct 01 & Oct 02 at the Wright-Patterson AFB US Air Force Museum (Fairborn OH) on the eastern side of Dayton...just a few hours from Grand Rapids...the Buckeye Gamers in Flight will be hosting a couple of tables to introduce visitors to the air combat while replica planes will be flying and on exhibition, along with a large contingent of radio controlled models...lots of reenactors and a great two day bash. Give it some thought.

Also, before your next visit with your father in Wisconsin, check the members list for the folks in Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin, they seem to gather quite frequently for gaming opportunities and since I know a few of them I am certain they'd enjoy meeting and flying with you...and possibly helping to scoot your father into the "addicted to the game" column.

Again, welcome to the Drome...and hope to see you at DPR in a couple of weeks.

Welcome to the Aerodrome Nick. If I can get my wife interested and playing Wings you have to get your father in the cockpit.
