    Default WW2 chinese aircraft

Does any one know what types of aircraft were used by the Nationalist Chinese between 1938 - 1945.
I have heard that the National Chinese used Gloster Gladiators, is this true?
Did the Communist Chinese have any aircraf? if so what?

If you are interested in Nationalist Chinese Air Force read Flying Tiger of Daniel Ford.
There are a lot of news about it.

I don't remember I read anything about Gladiator.

The communists had no air force to speak of, while that Wiki page looks in the right ballpark for the nationalists; more Russian kit than others, but a real mixed bag.

There is a Nationlist Chinese Gladiator in 'The Last of The Biplanes' set.

Vultee made a number of P66 fighters (100 or so) that were originally meant for Sweeden. After being rejected by Britain, most of them ended up in China.

IIRC the P-43 Lancer, predeccesor of the P-47, was sold to the Nationlist Chinese. A great collector of multi-national aircraft, better than the Finns.

I think in Col. Robert Scott's book God Is My CoPilot, he talked about going back to India to pick up new planes to ferry them into China and there were a few of the P-43s. If I remeber right, he said it was considered a pretty "hot" plane by the pilots who flew it at the time. It was just a handful though, less than 10 planes.

According to 'American Aircraft of World War II' by David Mondey, 107 Republic P-43 Lancers were deliverd to China in 1942. The Chineses also flew some Curtis 75A-5 's an export version of the P-36 Mohawk from Kunming in 1942.
