These scenarios look like fun, Peter - I'm sure you and Chris will have a good time - wish I could be there to play!

Great 'local' card for the event, too, Mike!

    All the best,
    Matt

    Nice card Mike.

I already have hand outs I have been doing for 2+ years. I make badges for WWI and WW2 with a pin clasp. To it I add a ribbon with the convention/show attended. I also add a ribbon for best player on each side, Iron Cross, DSW, Legion of Honor....and wounds/shot down badge like the Bull's Eye award.

If I have time I may make some of Mike's cards too.

Ah, Yes! I remember seeing these. If these are plastic, they are out of my price range.

Although I really like the idea that you could add successive awards to the pin, sort of like a career. That does have the appeal of showing off your "veteran" status at cons.

If you want the different game versions, and Ace, Bullseye, and Victim cards, I can do them up for you.

I print these myself on heavy stock paper. I then laminate them, punch the tiny holes and attach with rings. The top WWI or WW2 badge I glue a pin on the back. I get the pins and rings at 'Michael's'. More time than $$ to make these.

Now when I look around the table and see people wearing their battle honors I can see who the veterans are.

Thanks for the card offer but I think I'll stick with what I have going right now.

    Peter,
Totally get that. You've been doing this, and happy with it, so stick with it. Your regulars will be expecting it, too.

    Have a blast.

We'll see if the CofN people bring their last year's badges. A card may be easier to tuck in your wallet.

Latest for Council, only my two games. Chris has cancelled. I found out by talking to two friends that run Council.

So, morning and afternoon games will go on as scheduled. If we can get a table and there is interest I'll put on a third game for the evening session.

Ok folks, here are a few photos from Council of Five Nations.

    Operation Michael, the breakthrough.
6 players, so a decent turnout, flying over my new game mat.

All seemed to have a good time and three stayed on to fly in the next session, B-24s over Germany.

Gaming session 2, B-24s Over Germany.

Had 9 players for this one. Two 3 plane vics of B-24s escorted by a mix of four P-47 and P-51s were attacked by five Germans, a mix of FW190s and ME109Ks.
Fighter respawns were unlimited so we could play out the entire 4 hour session. I had a feeling the B-24s were not going to like this....

Several had not played Wings before so I started the planes back so they would have ~4-5 cards of flying to get the idea of how to handle their planes

    Second turn...the interceptors are sighted.

Sadly I did not get that many photos as I was a bit busy running the game.

All of the B-24s were shot down at the cost of 7 German fighters.

Several of the players were CY6 gamers so good to see them giving Wings a fly.

Great pictures here, Peter! LOVE the B-24s, especially the front three - that green one and the black and yellow checks on the silver ones are definitely some serious eye-candy! Great job...are they AIM models or some other manufacturer? I'm sure you improved on my trench attack scenario from Origins - while I enjoyed my game and running it, there was certainly room to improve things - you'll have to let me know how you tweaked it.

Looks like a great time was had by all...and shooting down all the B-24s...pretty neat feat!

    All the best,
    Matt

Matt, I loved your idea on the grenades tossed out of the 2 seater so I made up some grenade counters. I don't remember the size of your grenade counters but I'm sure mine are a bit smaller.
I have a line of infantry/trench cards for the targets. When tossing the grenade from level 1 it hits immediately, level 2 and up is like bombing with an additional card of movement added. If the grenade hits the card (pretty obvious you won't drop it if you'll miss!) you draw a 'C' damage card. If the grenade hits the red dot on the card you can redraw a zero. The infantry/trench card has 8 hit points. When the infantry card has another on it's flank it is one point stronger. Both flanks supported and it is worth 10 hit points. When you get enough hits on the infantry card it is moved back ~6". Breaking the line makes it a bit easier to push back the infantry cards when they lose flank support.
The more infantry cards you can move back and the deeper the push gives the Germans more victory points.
Of course you can use your observer's guns on the retreating infantry when not dropping grenades.

Looks great, Peter. As mentioned above those B-24s are beautiful.
I Hope Ares thinks about those for the next big birds. (With Bettys, of course ...)

The pictures are great - especially since you were trying to keep everything flowing.
    Well done, sir.

Thanks Matt. The front B-24s are the only ones I have that are actually finished or 90% there. They started out like the rear right on the back 3 with the 'H' on the right wing. The back 3, one blue one is a Pacific Navy B-24 half done. The other two, one will go the yellow/black checker board scheme but in olive, the other will go with the skull on the tail. These are 'Maisto' Adventure Wheels, Tailwinds or Sky Masters.

Peter - you mentioned the attackers got to respawn - perhaps you should bring on a second wave of the bombers as well.

It took the full gaming session for all the bombers to get shot down. I think at that point everyone had had enough. There were 5 German players and 4 Americans. I had planes for up to 9 Germans and 8 Americans. If I had the full 16 I think there would have been more bombers appearing since they would most likely have gone down quicker.
