    Default AAR - Defending Pola

Great time tonight playing the Defending Pola Scenario. http://www.wingsofwar.org/forums/dow...o=file&id=2306

My son Joseph, and our friend and new WoG player Bud took command of the three Austro-Hungarian scouts and I flew the two Italian M.5s.

Luck was on my side as on turn one I scored my first kill by taking down one of the D.1s with a golden BB card.

On the second turn I wounded the pilot of a second D.1 and the fight progressed a few turns with some swapping of damage.

A second wound took out another D.1

That took my son Joseph out of the game which left just Bud flying the lone D.1 against my two M.5s. They had scored a number of hits on me during the fray, but luck looked in my favor. Bud did a great job of avoiding getting into a turning fight with me and my marksmanship apparently suffered. Somehow Bud was able to shoot down his first M.5.

Bud had quite a few damage cards so I assumed that it would be easy to finish him off. Finally, after numerous passes ad a few gun jams - as we both did a close pass we exchanged close range fire sending Bud down and lighting my remaining M.5 on fire.

For fun, we drew the next damage card to see the effect of the fire, and sure enough, I would have gone down the next turn.

All in all a great time and Bud wants to play more!

Great AAR Barry, glad you enjoyed it.

It brings home this forum is a worldwide community to see the scenario sheet I wrote here in Brisbane, Australia printed out and sitting on your table halfway around the world in Carmel, Indiana, USA!

Great job Barry, a good fight against the odds and obviously encouraged the rookie to seek his revenge so well done for that
I notice the second wound and engine damage cards were B deck - is that a deliberate thing to bump the special damage up, or, a result of a jam house rule ?

    NOOOOOO!

That was a mistake. I hate it when damage decks don't get cleaned up properly.

A very nice game indeed, but --- yes, that is of great importance to check the decks before starting a game. I too noticed different A/B damages.
Well, do not worry Barry. That's the fate of war, some strange shots and bullets out of nowhere happens. Everyone might have taken those strange cards.

Easily done, I thought you may have switched down to B deck when you had a jam.
