Fantastic work Clipper, the mottled camouflage looks superb!

My September bench is similar to August with cartoon tanks taking up my time.

Great little jets there, Steve! Definitely some point-defense for the Homeland...

And Dave, your little blue Bebe is gorgeous - sure to be a hit with a Jasta here and there...

Thanks for the continuing inspiration, lads!

    All the best,

It looks like my gnomes have been up to some mischief again. I wonder what they have in mind this time?

After several hours, the gnomes have finished my version of a Wibault 283-T, a French airliner of the 1930s which made an appearance in the Tintin adventure The Broken Ear.

With a length of 55 studs (17.3 inches or 0.44 meters) and a wingspan of 76 studs (23.9 inches or 0.61 meters) it is larger than most LEGO airplanes, but it is a good size for the minifig passengers. However, displaying it will be a problem. I hope to show it at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center for their 'Air and Scare' Halloween event in October.

Fun fact: Despite its appearance, the Wibault 28[n] predates the Junkers Ju-52 trimotor design by a couple years (while the single-engine -52 dates from 1930, the -3m didn't appear until 1932; the -280 trimotor appeared in late '30-early '31).
