Thread: Fallen Forum Comrade

    Default Fallen Forum Comrade

It is my sad duty and with heavy heart that I report the loss of one of our wingmen.
I was informed today that Mick Owen (Mickowenuk), the Dorset Flight Leader recently passed away whilst abroad for his company. This was unexpected and a great shock to his family, friends & colleagues.
Mick was a quiet chap & a lovely bloke who got us involved in the initial Beachhead show at Bournemouth, introduced us to his local gaming community and his local gaming store where he promoted Wings to all who'd play.
I have forwarded our condolences to his family and friends at the club.

R.I.P Mick, blue skies my friend you are sorely missed.

Oh, crud. Death issues always suck, and it's only more sucky when they're friends.

What really sad news, thanks for letting us know Dave and for passing on condolences.
I was not able to meet Mike earlier this year but I know he made a great impression for the UK Sqn at the show.
I can only say how sad this is.

It is fitting to toast a fallen comrade

We loop in the purple twilight,
We spin in the silvery dawn,
With a trail of smoke behind us,
To show where our comrades have gone.

So stand to your glasses steady,
This world is a world full of lies
Here’s a toast to the dead already,
...And hurrah for the next man to die!

I echo the sentiments above - it's never easy when someone you care about passes, even more-so difficult for family and close friends...

Please forward condolences to his family and represent the Aerodrome in whatever way appropriate.

    All the best,
    Matt

    A toast: To Absent Comrades.

    R.I.P. Mick.

I am poorer for not having known him, despite he is a distant relative. Same last name, anyway.
