Looks great Bob, but I'm afraid the small printing and Black on the vellum colour I can't read with my eyesight.

Wunderbar ! What an exciting clash of arms over the trenches Bob, that old Wahlfisch held up well all things considered and you secured a close run victory for the Eagles.
Onkel says:
Things could have worked out very differently if you had applied the OTT rules regarding engine damage and wounded pilots...your Pfalz would have headed to the barn as would the Rote Herz Camel. You can also be the I in AI to prevent any machine leaving the battle area by selecting the best manoeuvres for any given situation.
Nearly there with the Tally - remember it is crash and wounds you roll for so even if RTB a wounded pilot must roll so -
Ltn Busch: RTB / WIA / 0 kills
Rolled 8 +3RTB -1 WIA = 10 all well when you land well
And you didn't take account of the Schulte's wound in your calculations - it proved mortal...
Fwbl Engel Schulte: SD-EXP-NML / WIA / 0 kills
Rolled 7 -3EXP -1NML -1WIA = 2 KIA.... Please let me have the name of a replacement pilot.
Similar with 2Lt Weir and Sgt Hall but the results come out the same as they fall in the same bracket
Good news that Ltn Kohler has survived the battle - he will be able to treat his colleagues to a few beers to celebrate his victories and the fact that he is awarded a Wound badge (black), Air Gunner Badge & the Iron cross 2nd class !

Another action filled AAR Bob & a great story line to boot.
That was a close result but your Eagles won the day. Well played mate.
Great action. A very well done AAR. Most enjoyable!
Herr Major:
"Things could have worked out very differently if you had applied the OTT rules regarding engine damage and wounded pilots...
...your Pfalz would have headed to the barn" Sir, is that at my discretion, or is that required, when the conditions are met?
"...as would the Rote Herz Camel." It was my plan to maneuver him back to friendly territory and then out of the engagement area, and only engaging targets of opportunity in its path, but the skies proved too crowded.
"You can also be the I in AI to prevent any machine leaving the battle area by selecting the best manoeuvres for any given situation. " I had been intervening by manually selecting the least negative set of maneuvers in the Solo Deck. Just to confirm - I may perform a full manual override of the planned maneuvers in this situation if I do not want that craft to leave the play area? Are there any other conditions where that level of intervention is allowed?
"Nearly there with the Tally - remember it is crash and wounds you roll for so even if RTB a wounded pilot must roll..."
Entschuldigung. I neglected to include that fact. I shall strive to do better!
"Please let me have the name of a replacement pilot." Fwbl Rupert Eichner is available to take over piloting the Halberstadt for Koehler, replacing poor Schulte, while Brandt and Jaeger move up to the new Hannover. I wonder, could we work out a scenario where Koehler gets his pilot training and moves up to fighters? After a suitable time away? I would like to put his good aim to better use... !
Other new reserve crews available for the next mission as/if needed
Backup 2 -seater crew: pilot
Backup Scout Pilots: Friedrich Wolfgang Mattias von Augsburg ; Gerhard Himmel
For the Bulldog component, as Foster may be away healing for a bit, please make up a berth for 2LT Reginald Holmes
Danke!
Very nice AAR indeed Bob. Thoroughly enjoyed reading that. Well done the Eagles
Engine damage / wounds are not discretionary, though you are not the first to ignore the rules you signed up to for this campaign ...Sir, is that at my discretion, or is that required, when the conditions are met?
So long as you think it's the right thing to do in the circumstance & you're doing it in the best interest of the machine & the game no one minds. It is allowed to assist with photo/bombing and in obvious cases where damage to the machine would prevent a manoeuvre. Sometimes it just takes a one card change to make the difference.Just to confirm - I may perform a full manual override of the planned maneuvers in this situation
Eichner & Holmes are added to their respective roster, we will wait and see what scenario 4 brings as you have 3 scouts available & a two seater crew.
If you'd like to send Koehler to flight training drop him for a month after his hospitalisation and we'll roll him back in as a scout pilot. In anticipation I have shown him as T for training on the roster for that period - just let me have a new Ltn to partner Eichner as a replacement.
Brandt and Jaeger cannot have a Hannover CL.IIIa until Mar18 but if we call it a CL.II they can get away with it. The stats seem to be about the same and will keep you flying.

Herr Major - new observer to pair with Eichner just reported for duty, Leutnant Otto Doerner. We will send Koehler off to his pilot training. He has a score to settle after all.....
Great action, Bob, and a very interesting read.
I do like the extra effects you put into your presentation.
One question - you indicate the Roland did not have a forward-firing gun.
I always use a B damage to represent a single Spandau on mine.
That's what the Ares website indicates: Roland C.II
"He is wise who watches"
Missed that - and I now have the Ares version to go with my Nexus.
Will keep that in mind for future missions.
Just read further on the Ares page ...
Usually, the reconnaissance machines were only equipped with a Parabellum gun for the observer and a radio transmitter. Later, a forward firing Spandau gun was added to the armament.

Using the Roland I had available, in its -/B configuration seemed to fit the storyline building in my head. And as it turned out they were the star of the show in terms of results, excepting their untimely end.
Nicely done Bob and congratulations on the narrow victory for your Eagles.
Thumbs up for an Eagle victory Bob. We haven't seen many of those lately. A very exciting battle report!
Superb Carl.
Now everyone is going to want one!
Kyte.
