What a fantastic job! All those added details will make this model stand out from the others when you play. Great work!
Incredible. I'll be sending over all my Macchi 5s for you to upgrade!
If you do a bit more searching on the internet, you will find that the MGs are in the nose, right where you indicate in your image.
Hmmm...
A little difficult this morning. But, I found this.
You can see the metal fairing around the gun port in this image a bit clearer. All the images of painted noses show the designs covering the metal fairing with paint, making them very hard to distinguish.
Found this!
I was thinking that the guns might have been out of reach of the pilot in the M-5, but this shows they are accessible. Hopefully this is helpful to you, too.

Hat's off again to your bravery in stringing the model, I thought of doing that but with all the planes it would turn into a full time job!
Gorgeous work! The rigging really adds to the model...
All the best,
Matt
Very nice . Thats a lot of work for a game piece .I have a hard time on1/48 or1/32 rigging, hats off to you
Truly great work Willi!
I have rigged all my Fokker E III's but would draw the line at trying to rig a Biplane.
My late mate Col Jones (COLBATMAN) not only rigged his E III's but DH-2's as well.
Sadly he was not around to see the Macchi's.
