Nice pictures, comrades.
Voilŕ le soleil d'Austerlitz!
Really glad we can still see these warbirds! I am grateful to all the enthusiasts for keeping them looking and flying as they did in the war!
Great photographs, Barry, Pete and Bob!
Great photos guys, thanks!
Nice picture thank you
WOW--GREAT pictures guys, thanks for posting them! I'd love to go for a ride in any of those.
nice pics! man i so envious of you guys whove gotten to FLY in a b-17!!!!!!
Same here.
I was going to get to fly in one once many years ago. I had run a half marathon in Bar Harbor Maine. When leaving I saw a B-17 at the local airport doing rides! I stopped in for a ride but unfortunately the ceiling was only 500 feet so they were not going to fly. I took some photos, if I can find them I'll post them.
Didn't have the $$$ to go up in the B-17. It was Father's Day and a lot of lucky dads did get to go up in it.
We did get to go inside both the B-17 and B-24. I took a TON of pics - it was my first outing with a digital camera.
Got video of the B-17 taking off, but it's really choppy. The stills came out pretty well.
Great pics Barry et al.
Run for your life - there are stupid people everywhere!
Cool pics, thanks! As for room in these planes, I remember wandering through a grounded Lancaster bomber many years ago in Southport (NW England) and managed to bump myself rather a lot in the cramped compartments!
that would be cool! the closest i ever came to a ride in a warbird was at a small local airshow where for $100 they would take you up in an at-6 and "hand over" the controls to you!!!!!! as thats all the money i had with me at the time i passed. still wishing i would have though.
I think the top photo is of the Collens Foundation planes; They come to Akron/Canton airport (the MAPS museum) each year for the last few.
I have scads of pics, unfortunately most in the old computer. Had to pass this years due to weather and domestic issues

I used to see the Golden Hawks practice in the air above our house back in 1959-60
