Thread: FE2b at The Vintage Aviator

Default FE2b at The Vintage Aviator

For Barry Gullraker who loves his FE2b a great quote attributed to the pilot of the FE2b 'Jess' flying over in NZ:

"Jess coming back in. Gene says the Fee handles like a cattle truck, big and heavy and sways around the place."

Check out the photo - Cooper bombs under each wing and it looks like a 100lbder under the centreline!

    Thanks Carl!
Gene De Marco has flown more & different WW1 originals & replicas than just about anybody on the planet.
He is chief pilot at the Vintage Aviator in NZ & used to fly at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome in the USA.
Here are a couple more of Jess & the other NZ Fee with Gene in the Pilots seat & another FE 2b Night Bomber in the UK.

I would LOVE to see some FE2s and BE2s in my mix. We need more of the older planes flying over our tabletops.

Not only that but both types continued in service all the way to 1918.

That is awesome and I love the quote. It reminds me of when I take my 1970's Oldsmobile out for a drive. It drives like a cross between an overloaded cattle truck and the RMS Queen Mary!

Mike you can always go the Shapeways path if you feel like painting them up.
