Thread: Stupidity Rules or is it just the Alzheimer's?

    Default Stupidity Rules or is it just the Alzheimer's?

    I played a WW2 game last night and used a KR Case that I haven't opened for a while. Therein, tucked away at the bottom, were 5 Maneuver decks but of a large size. As I had in the same case 2 x FW190 and 2 x Spitfire MK IX with the matching card deck numbers we played with them. However it did not feel right. I have no recollection of when these cards arrived or with which aircraft, shouldn't take them out of their original packs I hear you cry, well I have and now I'm stuck. Can anybody tell me what aircraft these oversize card decks relate to?

    Large movement decks do go with the FW190 and Spit IX so you got it correct using them. First time I used the large decks I was uncomfortable with judging the speed. Quite a difference in ground covered!

    I've never yet used my Spitfire IXs or Mustangs or Fw190D, so I know the decks are appropriate, but don't know which deck belongs to which plane.
    I don't even recall buying the said planes in the first place!

    The deck should be on the aircraft card.
    However: the Fw.190D uses the R deck, and the Spitfire Mk.IX uses the O deck.

    Thanks Peter. I'm obviously not as far past it as I imagined.

    Tim, the decks are as follows:

    Spitfire IX O deck;
    P-51D Mustang P deck;
    KI-84 Hayate Q deck;
    FW-190D R deck;
    Me-109K S deck;
    P-47 Thunderbolt T deck;
    Yokosuka D4Y1 Suisei W deck;
    Dauntless I deck.

    The W and I decks are normal size, not large.

    Can not believe my eyes reading these posts, truly. Late war fighters DO USE "faster" decks, I mean larger cards!
    Reg, old friend, have not you tried them so far, really?

    Hi Andy
    I did use them back when I bought them but that is a long time ago and the memory is failing. There are some good things about getting old but I just can't think of any at this exact moment.

    The trouble is that I do too many other things so don't play WGS enough normally WGF if doing airplanes. But then if you add in Frostgrave, Saga, Gladiators, ACW, Napoleonic, Sails, Naval WW1 and WW2, Coastal Forces, Space Hulk, Necromunda the list goes on (and on and on). I keep saying we must concentrate on just a couple of these but my playing companions, I think, like to keep me confused. We always struggle with the rules of whatever we play as we do not play just one game enough so never fully remember rules and procedures. Such is life but at least it keeps me occupied and my brain active?

    This is very true, exactly my thoughts.

    Sorry, I meant to write that the Yokosuka D4Y1 Suisei uses the W deck.

    This thread is well named.

    We're not really getting older; we're just getting more senile. (I had a similar moment when a couple of duel pack that I had ordered arrived, and I had to re-inventory everything, 'cause I couldn't remember how many of each type I actually own).
