Thread: Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Turkey?

    Default Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Turkey?

It makes no sense, politically, economically, or socially. Seriously, dudes, what were you thinking? Or were you even thinking?

It makes sense when you know that Turkish Armed Forces are guardkeepers of Mustafa Ataturk's legacy. Its role is not only defend Turkey from enemies outside, but even inside. And I can imagine easily, that some officers had a feeling that it is necessary to act and protect secular state organization. If they were right or not I do not know and really do not want to guess.

It made real sense, for turkish armed forces always stood on the bright side of democracy, human rights and against religious dark side of life that Erdogan supports.

The planners seem to have been suffering from the Somme mentality. Just walk in and everything will be OK!

I agree with Daniel and Andy. They were protecting their country.

Only problem now is that Erdogan has the justification to do what the hell he likes... not good

Worry not Boris Johnson ( no relative I might add!) will sort out old Johnny Ottoman , with a bit of help from Nigel Farage .
