Jan 1918 unit had 11 Hanriots, 2 N11s and 2 Farman Colombos used as night fighters.

19 Jan 1918 3 fighters and aircraft were deployed to 71a for one month

Mar 1918 passed the Farmans to 37a.

18 Mar 1918 unit had its first combat when serg. Franchini and Celestino Giordanino shot down a twoseater.

13 May 1918 sold. Franzi shot down another EA when he returned to take pictures he was captured with an intact Hanriot.

May 1918 unit equipped with 18 Hanriots, 1 Nieuport and 1 Spad 5384 The CO was cap. Pietro Marchesini with ten. Ottorini Frazzi, Arrigo Archibugi, Camillo Sommariva, Giuseppe Roland, serg. Jun 1918 the unit was at Busiago airfield and part of Massa da Caccia.

17 Jun 1918 ten. Sommariva was shot down and died of his wounds two days later.

01 Jul 1918 returned to Castenedolo. New pilots ten. Aldo Passalacqua and serg. Riccardo De Paolini.

16 July 1918 ten. Amerigo Crocetti and serg. Pomponi escorting a two seater and after a dogfight with 2 fighters Crocetti was wounded.

17 Jul 1918 unit was assigned to XXIV Gruppo.

04 Aug 1918 Archibugi was killed in a crash in his Hanriot 646 while doing aerobatics.

07 Sep 1918 Omizzolo became the new CO of 79 was replaced by cap. Renato Tasselli.

25 Sep 1918 went to the XX Gruppo.

16 Oct 1918 went to the XVII Gruppo and was stationed at Quinto di Treviso airport.

04 Nov 1918 ten. Gino Suali crash during an observation flight and was killed.

10 Dec 1918 the unit was disbanded.
