Especially like the first bit up in the clouds.

    Nice video!

I had no idea that any original Bf109Es were still flying.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

Me neither . I thought that they were replicas or not air worthy. good on the Canuts to get one airborne

Thanks Paul! A very interesting footage. I wonder if the engine is still original or it was replaced?

It certainly has been Andy, but the replacement is an original.

Are you sure that's the pilot, Paul?
The first sentence on the page with the clip says "The only surviving Messerschmitt BF109 E4 still flying. It was shot down and belly landed in a field during the Battle of Britain in 1940."

Marseille's bio says "At the age of 20 he graduated from one of the Luftwaffe's fighter pilot schools just in time to participate in the Battle of Britain, without notable success."
    No mention of being captured

I got the info on Marseille via the link on post #15 Pete.
The Wiki bio mentions his first kill In his first dogfight over England on 24 August 1940 but the majority of his kills were P-40s.

Aha - the second link shows the forced landing was in Calais.
I had assumed it was in England.

Marseille flew it on the channel front in 1940, where the ace claimed a Spitfire over Thames Estuary. “White 14” had a forced landing on the beach at Calais on March 2 September 1940
