To be honest Sam I actually have not opened one yet!
To be honest Sam I actually have not opened one yet!
I'm planning an unboxing video, and saving my first impressions for then. But the more the merrier!
I won't steal your thunder Evan.
FYI now that product flow is assured I have submitted an expression of interest to run Wings of Glory at Briscon 28-30 April, with Sunday being devoted to Battle of Britain scenarios. Paul from Emperors Legions will have a stand at the event selling the new WGS releases.
YES!!! Awesome news
No no really, the more space this gets on youtube the better! Everyone brings their own flavour to things, to be honest when I buy new games, I've normally watched an average of 3 different reviews or unboxing's before I get involved. I've always felt this game needed a stronger presence on youtube. Marco Wargamer did a good review of the previous ww2 starter set, I hope he does another for the BOB starter, he's one of my favs on youtube.I won't steal your thunder Evan.
In honour of the Battle of Britain release I've updated my Avatar to a Hurricane... after being a Polikarpov I-16 for at least 2 years
Makes you wonder... if a Pacific Theatre Starter is rumoured to come out once the BOB version is getting old, could a Battle Of Kursk Starter set be next???
FW190's, 109G's, Sturmoviks & LA5's
That would be fun...
Anyway.. Back to hurricanes for now
Word is Ares is going to try to keep this starter set in stock. If I were them, this would be the only starter set, and I'd release squadron packs for the other theaters.
But I'm not them. So who knows.
Love it, except if it's going to be a Kursk set swap out the Bf109G for the Junkers Ju87G (including Hans Ulrich Rudel's Kanonenvogel - imagine the ace skills!!). Except I believe Ares has identified that Eastern Front aircraft don't sell as well as those flown by or fighting against the Western Allies. Still as they say, if you build it they will come....
Yeah, although they've never really given it a shot. The yak 1's they released had nothing really to fly against except an unescorted Heinkel.
In my experience selling Angels 20/Bandits High, the Russian stuff sells very well. No difference to the other major nations at all.
You could also argue that the Japanese stuff doesn't sell well.
I really hope it comes out by March as I have scheduled a Battle of Britain game on April 1st at a local show. April 1st... the joke may be on me!
Any idea when the BoB will invade the States? The elves found my passport and an advert for an Australian cruise . . .
I literally just received the official email... the BoB street date is March 20th.
Excellent news! Thanks, I will tell the elves to make room in the hanger! Cheers!
Perfect. Just in time to make delivery for my birthday.

Damn, thats cutting it close for me as I have planned running a BoB game at a local con on April 2. Hope they get here on time.
Thanks for the update and Happy Birthday Dale.
What a shame, delivery will just be too late for my birthday by the time the get over the pond, and it all looked so promising for a while.

Not sure how I break the news of many new planes arriving to my wife...my birthday is half a year away!
So here is a "cunning" plan I will be using . . . have your elves intercept the mail delivery . . . Preemptive strike, sit through the latest historical video on Queen and country - the TV is always showing one . . . make her her favorite tea whilst you join her watching . . .
Day 1: Bring the Stuka squadron in first, regale her with the nasty and cowardly German attack on the homelands.
Day 2 Brittan's response with "the few" - your Hurricanes, woefully not up to the task but bravely arrive to fight on.
Day 3, the mean and relentless Hun brings on the Me109's in vicious droves, so do you.
Day 4 Freedom is defended by the loyal English response to the horrific invasion, ladies all over the land do fund raising events to raise funds for the brilliant Spitfires even now arriving to save all that is good and great in the land . . .
Day 5 you may need shelter elsewhere . . .
T minus 5 days....
Any disturbance in the Force? Any word in the warehouse? "The waiting is the hardest part," gotta find my Tom Petty collection . . .

Probably the biggest WGS order you have processed Keith?
Nice, that picture is worth more than a thousand words. One thousand nine hundred and forty to be exact. Can't wait to get my piece of that.
Nice!
