Default Colours Newbury Sat 10 Sept

I have received a mail from the organisers that we have a table space for this Premier show.

I propose our most favoured game of WW1 for this participation game.
Format I will publish later but mark in your calendars.
I would also appreciate any vollunteers for assisting through the day, not sure how many tickets we have as yet, but we will try to get you in as helpers.
If we get a second table I will also take my Sails kit.
So any vollunters for this show please.

I will need to confirm this weekend but looks good for me Chris. Cannot speak for him but Ajay might be able to make it too, I know he likes this show.

Put me on the reserve list. I might be bringing others (as I did last year), so may not be able to stay for the whole day. But if you end up short handed, I'll make plans to be available.

I was just going as a punter but I may be able to help out for part of the day, it depends on my lift.

Ref this show, I have received instructions for parking at the venue.
There seems to be some work going on at the race course and so there are two distinct parking areas, one for off loading and one for helpers.
I shall post the instructions for helpers here this week.
Tim can you make this show ? Let me know and Ill send you the instructions for unloading.
For set up purposes please can we get to site for 0900-0930 doors open at 1000.
The intention is for WW1 starting with early war dog fights then moving through the war with two seaters and bombers / balloons.

Here are the instuctions for getting to the venue

Other supporters must use the Visitor's entrance and park in Car Park 1 on the course. There simply won't be enough space otherwise.

Beware that the official brown Tourist Information signs will simply direct you to the nearest racecourse entrance, which may be wrong or closed. Please do not depend on past knowledge of our venue.

Visitors: set any sat nav to RG14 7GN. Boundary Road bridge is still closed for electrification, so stay on the A339 but expect heavy traffic after the show has opened. From the north, cross the canal and the railway then turn left at Burger King and follow the signs to the racecourse. From the south, drop down the hill and turn right at Burger King following the signs to the racecourse. The first gate will be open and you should head directly to Car Park 1 and follow the directions of the marshals. There is a footpath open across the racecourse to the right-most grandstand.

It was a good one indeed Rob. I got a couple of kills and survived one mission so I was happy ! Not as happy as Mr Manley though who snagged a bargain on the bring and buy - I'm sure he will elucidate in due course. Chris and Tim ably supported by Nigel, Andy and myself had fun introducing punters old and new to finer art of aerial warfare in which skill, knowledge and plain dumb luck all played their part. Tim & Chris took loads of pics so expect to see some of the glorious action in the near future.
Thanks to all involved for a great day of banter and bloodshed.

It was good to meet Dave & Tim, as well as to see the game & all the interest. Sorry not to have been able to play myself but time & the small beasties rather precluded that. Well worth the effort though & really good to make contact (especially as Dave only lives a mile or two down the road from my partner - small world!).

Also I was hugely impressed by all the effort which had been put into it. The game looked very impressive & it was beautifully laid out with all the bells & whistles. A very professional turn out by all involved. Good job!

    Some pics from the day

Mission was early war, MS N escorting a MS BB intercepted by Fokker EIII

The BB heads for the German HQ seen in the background, escorts engage the EIII's

Where has all the escorts gone loong time paassing.... sound like a song

    BB turns for home

BB heading home, pilot is holding together with his teeth ( 1HP left)

The BB don't make it back

    Next another early game

DH2 against Albatross D2 and Halberstadts with one of the new N11

    The Bebe did not last

    Nice pictures Chris.
They gave a flavour of what you were doing on the day.
I am also glad to see that your MS fares as badly as mine usually does when pitted against EIIIs.
It's just a matter of fire power.
    Thanks for posting.
