Playing with cellphone and snapped this picture against a clear blue sky then edited it for a sepia look.

Interesting. I like the effect you made.
I was rather irked that the camera that came with our new smart phone takes better pictures than our digital camera

I understand that. My cell is a Samsung Galaxy S4 and I can't believe how good the pictures are. But my Canon DSLR is a better camera. I don't have to take the time to compose each shot or wait for the cellphone to focus on the object. It's just not as convenient as my cellphone when sharing on the internet.

Interesting that the sepia photo is a larger file than this original picture.

Must be data overlay on the picture. Not a lot of increase, though.

    Yes, great pics Dan.
The only thing a smartphone camera lacks is the depth easy to obtain with manual focus equipped bigger cameras. Some time ago I toyed with that effect in WoG pictures using my Sony Alpha 58, a rather mediocre "mirror" cam.
    Below are the samples.

NIce pics all round. I must agree that using my phone is easier than my camera for taking pictures and the end results are about the same.

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4, and was surprised by how well the pictures turned out when my Panasonic digital camera batteries died mid way through a game weekend!

Yes Tim, Note models have excellent cameras.
Turning the Macro on may even enhance the impression.

Camera's on phones work well but you cant beat a digital SLR for really great shots

Nice pictures! Best I can do is hold them up against the sky as I don't have a game mat yet. More pictures will be coming. My final outcome of my picture was done on my laptop using GIMP. I made it my profile picture.

Final effect for this photo. Not entirely happy with the color, but close enough for first time for me.
