Today, I held an open gaming session at the Friendly Local Gaming Store. This was partly scheduled with Craig, the winner of the WWII Prize Pack at InCON 2015 and the Dual Pack at InCON 2016 and his boys.
L-R: Nearest: Johnas (Gladiator), Adam (CR.42), Kelsey in red shirt at back (P-51D), Craig far right corner(Bf-110), Silas (Beaufighter), Shane near right (Hurricane)
Fly anything we had, just to try out some different planes. No altitude, speed selected when the card is used, ignoring assorted special damage. But, they wanted to play collisions on overlap, not my usual rule of only if the red dot is under the shadow of the overlapping plane. So, C damage to everyone (which resulted in the P-51D taking much more damage than the shooting of the CR.42).
Some assorted shots:
First Gladiator being shredded: C: 6,6,5,0; B: 5; A: 4 Engine.
Second spawned Gladiator being shredded: C: 5,5 Smoke,3,0; B: 1; A: 1.
Third spawned Gladiator Revenge! One A chit at long range: Boom! And he survived the 2 C + 1 A damage, to boot!
The Winner?
Adam ventured all across the mats, colliding with the P-51D twice and then shooting it down, shooting down Shane's Hurricane, and surviving all sorts of shots by drawing 8 "0"s. He survived the shot from Craig (C: 0,0; A: 2), but had only one point left, and the first draw of fire damage did him in.
Various chits drawn, from A, B and C damages: 2,2,0,0,0,1,0,0,3,2,3,0,0,0,2,1.
Fun had by all, lots of laughs on the outcomes of some of the shots (two pilot wounds to a nearly undamaged Beaufighter by a B and A damage shot by the P-51D).
Next game may be a bombing run to learn bombing and Anti-Aircraft gun techniques.
