    Default Flash takes on Jasta 'Felmy'

    This is a solo game based on Carl's WF PF01 - Fighting Jasta 'Felmy'... I flew the Bristol, the Hun's are AI controlled.

    Palestine, 5 March 1918: About 1000hrs a Bristol F.2Bs of No.1 Squadron Australian Flying Corps (AFC) conducting a reconnaissance over the village of Jaljulia near the Mediterranean coast Piloted by Lt. Eustace Headlam with observer Lt. Edward Beaton when it's attacked by two Albatros D.IIIs of German unit Jasta ‘Felmy’ piloted in this game by Ltn Kurt Kohlbach (Voss) & Fwbl Martin Zander

    Headlam decides to go for the lead aircraft (randomly decided), moves to the left in a climbing turn to expose his rear gun, sideslips away but the Albatros lead matches the climb and bores straight in. The first exchange is inconclusive...

    Beaton gets his guns back under control following the reversal and pops a few rounds into the lead Albatros as he looks for an opening

    The leader sees his chance and takes it, rolling in and raking the Bristol at close range, his guns jam and he gets as good as he gives as Beaton responds in kind.

    His rudder damaged, his aircraft mortally damaged, Kohlbach must escape. being a shade higher he's not in the blind spot but Beaton fails to capitalise as the Albatros slips away

    The number two Albatros covers the lead as he retires from the field, Headlam gathers himself and sorts out a problem with his controls & Beaton reloads his twin Lewis guns before they both head back into the fight.

    Fun scenario to play, I thought Headlam might get the result but it goes to show you never can tell.
    I used my D8 charts, alt rules and OTT rules in playing this.

    Great game Dave. Yes I thought the AFC Bristol would put paid to the second Albatros but the cards did not fall that way.

    I would REP you mate but the High Command has decreed I have given you enough in recent days!
