    Default Through the Helmut-cam: U.K. Expo 2016, Day 2, Saturday 4th June

A couple of American gamers visited our table on the Friday, and requested a WGS game for Day 2.

    How could we refuse?

Enter "Luftflotte Helmut", attempting to bomb everything in sight, opposed by the WingCo in his Boulton Paul Defiant, with a little help from a few Spitfires!

After most of our brave British pilots had to leave, I ran a one-on-one Spitfire vs 109 for our new American friends, but moved the goalposts by flying a single He-111 myself!

I didn't take any pictures of the early action - I was solo at the time, and concentrating on keeping the game moving for the players.

Lovely swarm of Jerries here, Tim! Looks like quite the challenge for the home team...

I love seeing all the Heinkels 'vee-ed' up like that flying toward the target.

    All the best,
    Matt

    Thanks, everyone!

Yes, there were 3 Spitfires assisting the WingCo's Boulton Paul Defiant (unfortunately over the other side of the table, so not clear in shot).

    I ran the 109s with "limited fuel" rules;

climb costs 2 fuel, fast manoeuvres 2 fuel, Immelman card 1 fuel, dive and slow manoeuvres 1 fuel, stall 0 fuel.
The 109 rotte started with 40 fuel points, but VERY rapidly burned these off!

With this in mind, the 110s become much more important to the game, able to climb, dive and charge about as much as they like!

The He111s just flew straight; I plotted for the leader, then matched up all the bases each move.
I laugh in the face of danger - then I hide until it goes away!

That looked like an exciting game. Well done, Tim!

May I ask where you obtained the drop tanks for the Me110's, please?

Nice to see the110s on the table in force.
Had the yanks played before or was this an intro for them?

They had played before, but not often.

I quite like the 110s - need to repaint them a bit, though.
