    Default Trying late 1916 planes

Today, I had a nice little game playing with models I got at a show a year ago, and have never used! Albatros D11's and Spad VII's , I had a lot of fun and it got rather tense at times! Its on my blog at http://herkybird-richardbradley.blog...in-action.html

The Huns do well from August 1916 to May 1917, after that it is a year of pain until the Fokker D.VII arrives.

For the Entente the SPAD S.VII is a great aircraft for that period, tough and fast. My best ace in a WW1 campaign we played locally from 2010-2011 flew a SPAD with 19 Sqn RFC (2Lt. Frederick Gibbs MC, ah the memories).

    Thumbs up

    Yes I like that period.
There were some great games in the Early Doors Solo Campaign flying the Spad VII & the Albatross D.II's.
Anyone remember the infamous Lt. Fish?

Yes, I am always amazed how well the Germans held out against improving allied types during the period of the 'Amerika program'.
Am I the only one who is astonished how much happened in 1917? starting off with DH2's, Nieuport 11's, Spad V11's and Albatros DII's, and ending with Camels, SE5a's and Fokker DVII's - that's what I call a quantum leap in development!

    Thanks for the kind comments!

Nicely done Richard - those aircraft were a definite leap forward in the air war - have you had a chance to peruse the OTT Early Doors games at all ? As an off spring from your rules you might enjoy having a look through the games.
