I'm learning to fly, but I ain't got wings
Coming down is the hardest thing
Didn't help when young Martin flying an on fire ME262 blasted one out of the sky with 45 points of damage in one hit at Prague.
See you on the Dark Side......
well the powers that be in us aircorp werent all that enamored of the b-17 at first. many of the more hidebound felt it was "too much airplane for even 2 pilots". thats why they initially went with the douglas b-18 "bolo" bomber derivative of their dc2/3 family. there were enough elements in the ac who were able to see the forts potential and became a "squeaky wheel" until the yb-17s were ordered. the rest is, as they say, history.
If #11 is true -- and it is -- what does that tell us about German fighter-pilot kill-scores? >:)
Thanks Paul!
I saw that on their Facebook feed. They do come up with some interesting facts.
Interesting article, thanks Paul..
