Handley Page is spotted by the two DViii's
[
The two Dviii's are soon able to fire on the HP who in a defiant mood return fire they receive smoke and minor damage while one of the DV's receives engine damage
The HP continued to give sustained fire and damaged the second fokker of Obt Baconworst reducing his manouverability at the same time lt.oberstolen is forced to leave the area to rectify his damage
At this point the two camels join the fight, the camel flown by Perry gives chase on the fleeing oberstolen while Hawkwood tries to catch bacon worst who somehow manages to give him the slip
While trying to evade the HP Baconworst takes smoke damage from the desultory fire of the HP
Through a series of manoeuvres ending in an Immelmann Hawkwood is able to come into play with the fokker of Baconworst
Meanwhile Oberstolen has regained control and attacks Perry inflicting minor damage
Hawkwood continues attacking the hapless Baconworst
The action comes thick and fast Oberstolen is now giving chase to Perry
In a surprising turn of events both the HP and the camel of hawkwood converge on Baconworst and it results in killing fire
The action continues Perry completes a brilliant Immelmann and is now face to face with the Fokker of oberstolen Damage is inflicted on both aircraft
Surprisingly Oberstolen continues to give chase on the HP believing he can Finnish it off The HP with support of Hawkwood is heading for home
Both the camel and Fokker are in one hell of a dogfight who will win?
Oberstolen makes a break for it
But he is no match for the camel of Perry who blasts away with explosive and killing results
A happy smiling Captain Kiwi alongside a possible new recruit Jeff.
A Good fight all round in particularly from the HP and the gunnery skills of the crew. Due to the sensitivity of the bombing raid the names of the Handley Page crew have been withheld. It is not true that reports say G&T bombs were thrown at the Hun aircraft as this would be in direct disobedience of orders given by Flying Officer Kyte who regards such antics as a waste of valuable resources
