Default Noman's Land and Industrial Complex mats now up for pre-orders

I'm happy to announce that the two new game mats, Noman's Land and Industrial Complex, are now up for pre-orders on the Aerodrome Accessories site at only $25 each! These new mats are compatible with the other three game mats.

    Noman's Land

    Industrial Complex

Whoa! the only mailing option to UK costs $74 for 2 mats. Is this correct?

There has to be a way of shipping in bulk to a local distributor. Otherwise it's US and possibly Canada only. :-(

What if those UK members, who want to buy these new mats, get together and order say 10 of each. Would the overall P & P reduce to a reasonable level per person? I will PM Kieth and ask.
Will let you know the result.

I went for the cheaper on-line price for mats once, but the money I saved buying that way was completely outstripped by the shipping cost of $50.

The cost is a function of the weight and size of a mat, which is way bigger than a few minis.

So, I can see the huge shipping costs across the pond. Not much to do about that, but wait for a LFGS to bring them in and save you the shipping, or bit the bullet.

Even I can't run to that especially with over $100 of ships in the offing for which I have been squirreling money away.
I will have to join you chaps and wait for the UK distributors this time round. Such a pity because the mats are just what we have been waiting for.

The price is nice, but I understand that for this uncommon parcel size a lot of shipping cost need to be calculated.

I have to wait for an European offer, too.

Anyways a great offer from Aerodrome Accesoires!

I shall second these remarks. Great stuff, but not a bargain for this part of the world.

Shipping is steep, but it works out about the same as buying from a brick and mortar store with the discounted price.
    Order placed.

Unfortunately so At nearly 2.5 pounds (or 1.1 kilos) they are pretty heavy. And that in with the size of them and shipping gets stupid quick. I can look into bulk shipping if some of you wanted to place an order together... but then you still have to sort out how to get them to each other.

Are these mats the "Paper" ones from the kickstarter or are they the mousepad style?

If they are 1.1 kilograms they are definitely mousepad material.

I have two copies of each from the Kickstarter but I think I will still get the mousepad versions - they are so good at retaining cards in place compared to the laminated paper.

I currently have x1 Coast, x1 City, and x1 Sails with a 2nd Coast coming along with my Series 6 preorder. With this configuration plus the x6 B-25's in my hanger (among other planes) I can run a big War in the Pacific scenario with lots wings in the sky. Do I need the more maps? Need? No... but I really WANT that Industrial Complex to bomb it into a Noman's Land! I wish that I could just add to the preorder but it looks like I will need to suck it up and purchase it separately.

I was going to get 2 No Man's Land ones as well but they are already aligned against the long side so I did not see the need.

Joining them end-to-end would result in a long skinny map to play across.

But you have to remember that defensive trench lines were normally laid out in multiples of at least three so long edge to long edge would not be out of place. Even more authentic with a countryside mat in between.

For a four mat scenario you will need two NML whatever.

I`d say I`d want two of the No Man`s Land ones plus as single Industrial.
If I don`t by anything from now till they get released in the UK then I might just be able to afford it.

I'm seeing if I can get a bulk lot shipped from China, via Ares, for Australian customers. An 11Kg (10 mat) SAL large parcel to Australia costs CNY 542 or USD 81.30 , about $100 AUD.

The Aerodrome Accessories price is so good I can't match it even without postage, and I would really, really recommend that everyone buy from Keith unless postage is outrageous, his margins must be razor-thin. It's only because Ares no longer has any wholesale or retail distributor in Australia that I'm doing this, there *are* no FLGS's to buy from. The only shops still selling aren't ordering new stock now Milsims, the distributor, went belly-up.

If I can get this going, I might be able to get them for $45 AUD each landed in Oz.

Zoe you are again showing your dedication to the Game & fellow Forum Members, especially as you have just gone through such a traumatic time in your personal life.
I for one will certainly want one of each of the two new mats so please reserve those for me.

I am sure more of our Aussie Forumites will want to grab some as well..

I am coming to London in the first week of October, so if you guys want, I can get a bunch and bring an extra suit case. That should reduce shipping a whole bunch, though I would need someone to meet me in London to pick them up and distribute them. Just a thought. Since the mats don't come out till August, the delay should not be too bad.

    Hi Anthony

That sure is a very kind offer
So lets see what we can do to faciltate this....

With enough notice - (a couple of weeks)
I can happily arrange to meet you either at arrival airpoirt into the UK
or at another location, that's not a problem.

As i am fortunate enough to attend a number of the UK shows i can arrange distribution
to most pilots that have posted comments on this stream / or who pay before your departure.

so it appears from this message stream the ratio is 2 No Mans Land (NML) to each industrial ?
I will confirm with the notice i send out.

    Q1
Question - how many Mats can you fit into a case?

    Q2
Question - what is the cost for additional hold luggage ?
We need to cover this in total shipping costs to you from suppier & Airline hold charges

    Q3
    Question / Observation -
Everyone wanting mats should ensure they have wired you the cleared funds / money for the mats
before you set foot on the plane...
Each person can refer to pilot / tag call sign and true name when making payment

    Q4
Question / observation - what's your plans / itinerary while in the UK -
perhaps a game or two may get organised if you have the time/ it fits others in UK?

Let me know ref Q1, Q2 & Q4 - If this works for you i will collate wish lists etc from here in UK...

I will PM you with my contact details and then we can start logistics etc....

    Regards

    Maverick

    Maverick,

I think I can fit somewhere between 5 to 10 mats into one suitcase, particularly if I can take them out of the boxes. If there is only 2-3, I can put those in with our luggage.

Cost should be between $5 and $10 per mat, and free if there is only 2-3 that I can put into our luggage.

I will be in London the first week of October, but will be with family, so I may only be able to steal away for one quick game (or maybe two...)

G'day Alistair! Zoe is chasing the possibility of sourcing Australian supplies direct from China through Ares but your idea has merit if that does not work out.
