From posts on the Aerodrome Historical site it did not get much press coverage in the USA.

Thats a great pity. Thought our American friends would be more than happy to celebrate the likes of Rickenbacker

    Thanks for the links Paul.

Sadly here in the US there is not a whole lot of interest in history overall. If a gaming convention isn't strictly an historical one it will be 95%+ RPG, Sci-Fi....
Even then at our big historical miniature event, Historicon, ~10%+ of the games are not historical. At a local Massachusetts con this past winter, Total Confusion,
the historical miniature events were poorly attended with most games unplayed.
I don't go to this show anymore as I know it would be difficult to field a game or just a waste of time.

A sad truth... and one I fight on a daily basis. Part of the problem is a recent(?) move to focusing on the shame and dirt in U.S. history... we're not asked to celebrate, appreciate, or even acknowledge/recognize, we're expected to apologize...

Thanks for the read Paul. Sadly I also agree with Peter, not much interest as my generation IMHO. Don't think the emphasis on history is near as important in schools as it once was either.
Also WWII gets more attention here in the US than WWI.

Thanks guys for that insight .
A great shame that the current generation cannot look back with a degree of pride at what their ancestors contributed to the peace that exists in Europe today, and perhps an understanding as to why their foreign policies include fighting with the French and other European nations to the benefit of all.

There are few of us that know and appreciate our history but as Chris stated, we're going through a guilt phase.

Not up here -- Portland's gaming con is almost-entirely resource-management Eurogames, with a smattering of Other Stuff.

Yes, anything but historical gaming, hence the '....'
