    Balloon busting?

    Artillery direction?

    Perhaps a spy drop?

Or maybe a straight up dog-fight?

Really looking forward to see what you serve up this time around Peter

Six hours to go until 30 September in my part of the world.

Looking forward to see what you serve up Peter, gaming table ready for a weekend deployment.

Ok Carl, in your list you have dogfight. I would have to say yes to that. Nearly all of our battles turn into a dogfight even if they hadn't started out as one. I have toned it down as we have had a few large intense games. So yes, a dogfight with a chilling end on New Years Day for some.
It will be posted 22 hours from now.

Countdown has begun. Depending on the scenario I may bring my newly recruited Aviation Militaire Belge pilots out to fight the See Adler this time around.

Question about the parachutes in Santa's Helpers

It says they must be dropped from a minimum of 4 pegs.
How far do they drift before hitting the ground ?
Do we treat them like bombs ? (Two movement cards from that height)
Or is it further because they drift ?

  12. #212

Everyone has treated them as bombs so far Pete - and it's one movement card from that height (two at alt 5-6).

In ones and twos the aircrew file in to the briefing room, drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. One tells a joke which is greeted by a chorus of nervous laughter.

Soon some will go up, and some may not come back. No use worrying about they say, if you buy the farm it was your time.

The Major walks into the room and the pilots snap to attention. He it comes, they think as one, the mission for today.......

Thanks for the clarification. For some reason I thought above 3 was two. Time to RTFM again ....

Was that FotG rules ? There's an alt difference now.

I think that might be where my confusion came from.
I remember reading up on the FotG rules when I go my Staaken and HP.

Finally finished the AAR for Mission 5 - took twice as long to post as to play!!

Just have the epilogue to go, something a little different this time I think. That will have to wait.

For this campaign, do we have a general or specific location specified for the home fields of the bulldogs and eagles in mind? Trying to add some color to AARs and details for future Briefs.

I don't think it really matters Bob. I base my See Adler Staffel at Koolkerke in Flanders, which was a Marinefliegerkorps airfield, but if the scenario calls for them to move to another sector I write that in (e.g. the Cambrai mission).

Traditionally the 52 Squadron, Bulldogs have been based at Bentangles Bob.

    Mission #6
    TEASE:
Entente will be traveling 90km to execute this next mission.
Eagles will fly from an Eagles Nest nearby.
    Victory Points (max possible):
    Entente--26
    Central Powers--29
Take plenty of coffee, or whatever, to keep warm. You will be flying above the snowline.
    Special rules:
C&W additional -1for Entente pilots so far behind enemy lines
E&E additional +1 for Entente pilots(this will be explained in the briefing).

This is indeed true, at least as far as our propaganda circulated from Major Raymond's Office is concerned Squadron Leader.

Being far behind the lines should not make a crash worse Dale - that should be an E&E issue, the problem being it will be cancelled out by the +1 in the E&E. If you'd like to discuss the ideas you can PM me, I'm sure we can come up with something to fit your need.

Think I know him, isn't he a wrestler.. oh, no, that's Kurt Angle !

It's a play on words Baz rather than a real 'drome, featured in Rob's AAR's from the first mission of OTT.

No Baz, it in no way resembles Bert Angles at all.
Did you see what the Huns did to it on their last raid.
    It is definitely Bentangles.
    Anyway, Bert has no mustache.

    Unhappy

Struggling to get this one played by months end due to visitors from Sydney, Antique engine displays, eye doctor visits & bad weather (Rain, more gale force winds etc etc)

Might get an opportunity late next week otherwise early November.

Remember that there will be leave this Christmas so there's no new scenario for December, however, if you are super keen you can play an old scenario but, as always, your pilots are at risk and kills will only count as probables.

The next scenario will be due Jan 1st from the pen of Bob (BB401) for 7th Feb '18.
Please take a look at the rules sticky to check out the scenario roster for next year as Uncle had to modify it a little.

Default Aces of the OTTBE Campaign

With most of the OTT Bitter End Mission 6 results submitted, for a bit of fun I have completed Bulldogs and Kaiser's Eagles scoreboards for the campaign to date. The scoreboards list those pilots who have been credited with five of more victories. The scores have been taken from Dave's campaign spreadsheets and are accurate as at 19 December 2016.

And Barry since your lads are RNAS I have used their historically accurate ranks, so no I have not given Captain King a demotion!

If the campaign participants are keen let me know and I can update and repost the board each month.

Pity the Sniper's times is only back in 1916. It could have kept an update for us.
